Puncstorta was founded in 2023 with the aim of exploring the lives and experiences of left-wing women in the 20th century through art forms typically considered “womanly”. The Dianás cukor workshop draws inspiration from the experimental textile art of the 1970s and 1980s and the spirit of the Velemi Textile Art Creative Workshop.

The event is the first in a series of workshops focusing on the artists of the Velemi Workshop, with conceptual textile designer Kati Gulyás serving as the source of inspiration for this February workshop. After a brief historical introduction, participants will engage in a collaborative creative activity based on Kati Gulyás’s work Motionless Movement (1979).

For this “Dianás Cukor” occasion, we chose a technique that combines photography and textile art, allowing you to create works decorated using your own portraits. During the workshop, we will print self-portraits using special transfer paper, which we will then turn into patches using embroidery and various decorations. Optionally, you can also apply them to your own clothes.
