🩸 Menstruation Workshop 🩸

This workshop is a curious and creative exploration of MENSTRUATION as a lived, social, and cultural experience! It’s a safe space to learn, unlearn, share, and reflect together.

In the first part, we begin with an interactive quiz (don’t worry, it is not an exam!) on myths and taboos, menstrual cyclicity, period poverty, and menstrual products. The quiz is just another format of sharing information and provoking discussion. We invite you to unpack inherited beliefs, compare your personal experiences (if you want to of course), and talk about how access, education, and economics all shape menstrual health.

Then we move on to the second part, where we focus on how menstruation is represented in the media. We will watch and analyze advertisements, film clips, and examples from pop culture. What is shown? Or NOT shown? What is distorted? Together, we look at how shame, silence, “clean” aesthetics, and gender norms are produced and reinforced.

The final part will be a guided art exercise about your journey with menstruation. You are invited to reflect on your personal relationship with menstruation across time: first periods, moments of confusion, pride, pain, or solidarity. Using drawing, writing, painting, and collages, we will translate our experiences into visualization. Anyone can do it, regardless of artistic skills!
