GRANDMA LIVES BETWEEN THE CANNED FRUITS
object theater storytelling by Virók Eszter Tünde
in english
What stories are hiding in a pantry full of heritage?
In this short play, the characters will talk and uncover their stories, discovering multiple viewpoints of a story and how the personal history of the family shapes our lives still to this day.

🔪 7.30 PM
WHERE THE KNIFE FELL
performance act based on journal entries addressed to a father
by Maria Nasr
in english and arabic
These texts are about Mariam’s relationship with her father and how that relationship ended when the performer was forced into exile, seeking refuge, and her father passed away. Mariam’s character loses her existence by painting her body grey, highlighting the parts of her body where her father had hurt her during their relationship. This is meant to symbolize the never-ending suffering and guilt. The play’s central question is: where does one’s body and soul begin, and where does the body and soul inherited from one’s ancestors end?
This project was presented at the 3. Performance now! festival organized by School of Disobedience.
🏠About Home theatre:
In a world of big stages and louder voices, home theatre makes space for the fragile, the personal, the overlooked. It invites us to gather in closeness, to listen differently, and to rediscover how stories live between people.
We believe that theatre doesn’t always need a stage; sometimes the most potent stories unfold in living rooms, kitchens, or backyards. Scenescape was created to support performances that break away from convention, that value closeness, and that dare to ask how personal stories can touch collective memory.
These projects were possible with the support of the Szendvicsbar Community Hub.
